Lower-carbohydrate diets for type-2 diabetes remission: AfN Accredited Webinar
It was previously believed that type-2 diabetes was a debilitating and chronic condition that required lifelong care to support and manage, primarily through pharmacological treatment such as insulin and metformin.

We now know this isn't necessarily true. Type-2 diabetes is a condition that can be put into remission, and even completely 'reversed' in some individuals through positive lifestyle changes and significant weight loss for individuals also living with obesity.

Lower-carbohydrate diets have previously been seen as controversial. However, the landscape is changing with the BMJ, SACN, and the NHS all supporting the use of lower-carbohydrate diets for individuals with obesity and type-2 diabetes for up to 6 months to induce weight loss and improve glycemic control, as well as markers of cardiovascular disease such as triglycerides and HDL.

This webinar will help to address the misunderstanding around lower-carbohydrate diets. We'll review clinical research showcasing the positive impact this dietary approach can have on all of the physiological requirements of type-2 diabetes remission as outlined by Dr Roy Taylor's work at Newcastle University.

If you're keen to understand the pathophysiology of type-2 diabetes and how lower-carbohydrate diets work - this is the webinar for you!
